This is a
personal project and quick study over one of designer's favorites concepts, the Alfa Romeo Carabo, designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone in 1968.
This Homage
Concept comes in a way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Carabo.
Mixing the
old feeling with more modern and dynamic lines, this concept is a
balance between the old and the new.
It brings
hidden glasses merged with the body paint, which can only be seen through
from the inside, creating this way a solid and continuous body shape. The
front lights are also hidden underneath the bonet and can only be visible when
turned on, recalling the Carabo's sober 'no face'. The rear has a high
relief texture composed by thin rectanges, housing the lights in
the extremities.
Powered by
electric motors, the concept has the battery packs located in the rear.
Sleek and
agressive, the Homage Concept brings back the timeless Carabo to the 21st
century.
